You lie on a comfortable table. Lights are dimmed. You stay clothed.
Step 04
The needles are placed. They are as thin
as a human hair — sterile, single-use, disposable. Most patients feel nothing or a brief warm sensation.
Step 05
You rest
with the needles in for 15–30 minutes. Most patients fall asleep.
Step 06
Needles come out painlessly. Most patients feel
calm and relaxed for hours after.
Frequently Asked Questions About Acupuncture
For most people, no. The needles are as thin as a human hair — nothing like a shot or blood draw. You may feel a brief pinch or warm sensation. If anything hurts, Dr. Sara adjusts immediately.
Yes. Every needle is sterile, single-use, and
disposable. The package is opened in front of you and disposed of after.
Yes. Clinical research shows acupuncture reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms. It works best as part of a
personal quit plan.
For recent pain or stress: 2–4 sessions. For long-standing
issues or smoking cessation: typically 6–10 sessions. Dr. Sara gives you a realistic estimate after your first visit.
Coverage varies. Some plans cover it for chronic pain. Original Medicare does
not cover it in our office. Kim will check your plan before your visit.
